Job Description
About the role
As a Clinical Prosthetist, you'll provide high-quality prosthetic assessment, prescription, fitting, and rehabilitation services to people with limb loss. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you'll build strong relationships with patients, whānau, technicians, rehabilitation providers, surgeons, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, ACC, and other healthcare professionals.
This role offers a diverse caseload and the opportunity to work across all stages of a patient's rehabilitation journey, from initial assessment through to long-term support and review.
What you'll be doing
Assessing, prescribing, fitting, and reviewing prosthetic interventions
Working closely with patients to develop personalised treatment and rehabilitation plans
Collaborating with technicians and clinical colleagues to achieve the best outcomes
Participating in multidisciplinary rehabilitation and clinical review meetings
Building positive relationships with referrers and external stakeholders
Contributing to quality improvement, innovation, and service development initiatives
Maintaining accurate clinical records and documentation
Supporting a culture of continuous learning and professional development

We're looking for someone who has:
A qualification in Prosthetics and Orthotics (or an overseas equivalent)
Strong clinical assessment and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities

A commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice
An understanding of rehabilitation and multidisciplinary models of care
