We're looking for a Physiotherapist to join our Wellington team. This is an opportunity to work alongside a multidisciplinary team of prosthetists/orthotists, technicians, physios and other health professionals, helping people maximise their mobility, function and independence.

Job Description

About the role

As a Physiotherapist at Peke Waihanga, you'll work as part of a multidisciplinary team alongside prosthetist/orthotists, technicians, physios, nurse and other health professionals to support people to achieve their mobility, rehabilitation and participation goals.

You'll provide assessment, treatment and rehabilitation support for people using prosthetic and orthotic devices, including gait re-education, functional mobility training and ongoing clinical review. The role offers a varied caseload across a wide range of ages, conditions and clinical presentations, providing opportunities to build specialist knowledge in rehabilitation and assistive technology.

This is a role where you'll have the opportunity to develop specialist skills, work with innovative technologies, and be part of a team committed to improving independence and quality of life for the people in our care.

Desired Skills and Experience

We're looking for someone who is:

  • A registered Physiotherapist with a current Annual Practising Certificate
  • Passionate about improving health and rehabilitation outcomes
  • Person-centred, collaborative and adaptable
  • Confident building relationships with patients, whānau and colleagues
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Willing to travel for regional clinics as required
  • Hold a current, full New Zealand driver's licence

Experience in rehabilitation, disability services, neurological rehabilitation, musculoskeletal physiotherapy, amputee rehabilitation or assistive technology would be an advantage, but is not essential.

Based in Wellington, you'll also participate in our regional outreach clinics, helping ensure people can access care closer to home. This involves travelling approximately once a month to a regional clinic, typically for two or three days and requiring one or two nights away from home.
