This role is for 24 hours per week with flexible days and hours. The Tauranga centre is a very welcoming and comfortable environment, with a small, close-knit team who are very experienced and supportive, so there is a lot of support for learning.
The ideal candidate will be a very capable physiotherapist who has a keen interest in prosthetics, orthotics and rehabilitation. The ability to develop and maintain strong professional networks will be key in the success of this role. You will receive extensive support and training in prosthetic devices and amputee rehab, with strong connections to our national rehabilitation team through regular collaboration calls, hui and professional development events.
Job Description
The successful candidate will work with a wide socio-economic range of patients, on all aspects of post amputation care of the stump(s) through to the fitting and use of artificial limbs. You will attend clinics, obtain and relay information pertinent to the patient’s care and be involved in team decisions regarding on-going care.
We are looking for a strong communicator who has the following skill set, linked to the themes of our strategic objectives:
Service –a keen interest in the delivery of high-quality prosthetic and orthotic care and services to patients. Strong and active relationship with DHB's and other service providers to improve the coordination of patient care.
Expert Workforce –registration with the Physiotherapy Board of New Zealand and a full and current annual practicing certificate. Experience or interest in prosthetics and orthotics and rehabilitation in order to deliver a patient-centred service.
R&D/Technology – a keen interest in embracing technology and research to improve the patient experience and outcomes, and to improve processes to gain operational efficiencies.
Equity – a strong focus on providing patients with access to technology and service based on need.

You will have a passion for embracing technology and research to improve the patient experience and outcomes for patients; and a strong desire to continually improve processes and standards to gain operational efficiencies.
